Good product.: Lenses

Well packaged and shipped quickly. The optics of the lens are good. On the front was a slightly dangling piece of plastic - a plastic ring with a filter thread.

  • Good value for money

  • Expensive

If you are looking for a cheap lens then this is it!

I can't say enough good things about this lens, photos are sharp and clear and its performance is outstanding even compared to similar brands. Over the past month my lens case has evolved from the look of a Canon advert to a carrying case for most Tokina, Sigma and Rokinon lenses. However, I will not be replacing my Canon EF S lenses. In the future, every EF lens I buy will most likely have one of these three names.

Pros
  • Free for educational use
Cons
  • Style 90

Sharp and rich in contrast when striking.

I bought this lens as a new WA lens. However, it wasn't what I was hoping for PROS: Long range Constant aperture Excellent build quality Smooth operation Sharp as a nail (when in focus, see this copy (sometimes front focus errors do occur) I had several Tokina lenses, so this was one Surprise Minor snag: the zoom ring overall could be made wider, it's great quality in its class and as far as I can see others have better autofocus than mine so I might give 5 stars if my autofocused copy was…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Not as good as it promises

I do not recommend buying

captures light very well. I used it for night time photography and the colors were very good. The only problem is that the autofocus is a bit odd. I have some photos in blur. Updated: After a few years of use (though not much) the focus ring and its noise were very loud. The clicking sound is very loud, I can hear it from 2 feet away. I thought this lens would have this design, but each time it got louder. And one fine day the auto focus stopped working, the MF ring also turned very hard. Only…

Pros
  • Excellent general characteristics
Cons
  • There are doubts

Impressive at 17mm. At 35mm not so much.

I calibrate all my lenses using the Reikan FoCal software which sets the micro focus on cameras that support it, both Canon 70D and 6D and this is the first example of this lens that I have just bought have not been calibrated to 35mm on any of the cameras - all test points tested by the software failed to get consistent readings at any setting, even after extensive testing. The only time I've had this problem with another lens was with an old Canon lens that was later found defective by the…
