Tombow Blender is good for detail work where you need a tiny brush with a fairly hard tip. However, it is not suitable for mixing large areas as the tip is small and does not really spread much water. I recommend adding the Pentel Aquash brushes to your collection to make color blending really easy. I will also add that I go through them pretty quickly - in just a few photos the tip is quite worn and not that good anymore. Still works, but no longer suitable for the detail work I envisioned…

Okay, I bought this for about $7 with change. Now I see it's TWICE more. I thought the price was hilarious when I bought it. The plastic mixing board is just a laminated sheet of paper and the ink seeps through the sides. It had scratches when it arrived so the ink seeps into them too and I don't want those colors to mix with the other colors I use. So I decided to use a flexible plastic cutting board. I got a bit worried seeing some of the negative reviews. I use this set with a set of 96 pens for painting the white edges of paper models and for the occasional touch up or detail. The handle is well made with good proportions. I've only used the "brush" end so far, but it holds up well and is just the right shape and size to get into tight curves (tiny tip) or into curves (full side). The bottle works well, I think it will last a long time. The mixing palette is 4" x 6" which is good enough…
