Notebook works well but dark blue

15 page Strathmore mixed media notebook, quite dark and I would have preferred something lighter, maybe a sky colour.

Pros
  • Good workmanship
Cons
  • Almost never

Great paper but greenish 'blue'

Strathmore mixed media notebooks are excellent. Note, however, that the color of the "Toned Blue" pad is very similar to Davy's gray pigment, greenish gray.

Pros
  • Beautiful

Great quality nice tone

Only problem is I like to work big and thought I could make it work but ended up hardly using it BUT it's a nice tone and the paper is very durable - Strathmore always has good paper

Pros
  • Quick change
Cons
  • Not sure

Not what I expected

I mainly paint with watercolors. This paper is designed for "multimedia", including aquatic environments. Watercolor will NOT show up on this paper. I've tried many of my toilet pens to see how they would work and only a few have worked. Maybe pastel? If you work with acrylic this would be great.

Pros
  • Notebooks and notepads
Cons
  • I will add later

Good for working with colored pencils

I like to use this paper for graphite and colored pencils, it can soak up a ton of pigment before the paper runs out allowing for many layers. I love working with toned paper and this material is different from the typical grays or browns - great for cool palettes.

Pros
  • Art paper
Cons
  • Quick instructions

184 pounds of paper?!

I didn't read the weight of the paper before purchasing and am amazed that your paper weighs 184 pounds. I have never seen professional grade paper of this weight and I can't even find other books of this weight so appreciate this book and use it for summer work very satisfied and will buy tinted brown and gray next time .

Pros
  • Drawing, Painting and Art Supplies
Cons
  • High Price
