This is the best tool for plastic and metal Toyota filter housings on Amazon. I work at a Toyota dealership and tried this after breaking the filter housing with the Motivx filter cup which was the top rated at Revain. This is junk. This house will not break. It doesn't get stuck in the case like a latch on a tool or Mac. It's so good that I had 3 technicians and the chief technician asked me to order one for them.

I purchased this tool based on the description which said 64mm. The actual size on a flat surface was between 64.5mm and 64.8mm. The picture I provided is from the Tool Guy Republic website which clearly states that this wrench should be 64mm on the flat sides. To my email asking me to send me the correct wrench the response was - you'd rather send it back, which I did. Accuracy +0.1mm. So 64mm should be between 64.0mm and 64.1mm which could make this wrench an ideal tool.

It's amazing what happens when you have the right tools. I used a cheap 64mm aluminum key for a while to open and remove the case, but it had a habit of sticking to the case and I had to find a way to get it off each time. Once I had a moment where the case fell apart with an aluminum key. I had no problems with that. He removed the filter housing and saved me a good 20 minutes of trouble. It's stronger and I find it doesn't wear down the plastic case like my old wrench did. Worth a little…

This slot is great for slip-in filters like most 64mm body Toyotas. Doesn't stick to the body like all the others I have. . But not so well with standalone 64mm replaceable filters. They seem a little loose and can slip off a really tight filter. I'll try tightening it up a bit by wrapping electrical tape on the contact area as I wrap more and I think it will still work on the case. This is a very hard mode with a nice finish and is a joy to use. I'd rather have a 3/8" drive than this 1/2"…

Almost killed trying to remove the plastic/nylon cartridge filter housing on a 2016 RAV 4 Hybrid. The torque spec is only 18 ft-lbs, but apparently these things are easy to overtighten or lock up on their own. (All previous oil changes were done by the dealer). I recently bought a second Toyota, used. So I had a special tool to remove the oil filter cup. The tool I used was stamped steel with a spot welded socket adapter. So far it has met my needs. Turns out the dealer had to install an impact wrench bowl on this newer car. When trying to remove the filter bowl, I broke not one, but two stamped metal adapters.
