excellent square for measuring and marking tools

This is my version of the square. Accurate, easy to read, and easy to find in a tool box. I like Irwin tools, they are inexpensive and quality products in my opinion.

Good contrast, easy to read

yellow on blue makes the square easy to read. Hopefully the paint won't peel off, but time will tell. I'm by no means a pro, just a home dyer, so I expect it to hold up.

Solid piece of woodworking tool.

This thing is really strong. I only recently realized the value of these rafter squares and bought this one because the lettering is easy to read. Maybe the paint will peel off over time and it would be better to just go unpainted, but so far it looks good.

Not completely correct.

Degree scale compared to my star combo box and drawing templates. Against a true square edge, they're all off. The 45 degree mark is about 1/2 degree off. Might be good enough for very rough joinery, but not quite right. Unsuccessful because everything else on the pitch is good.

Order direct from Revain (not other sellers) to get blue and yellow!

This is a GREAT square - durable and brightly colored. My hobby carpenter husband was delighted to get it for Father's Day after breaking his plastic. It feels thick and heavy and looks like it will last for decades. As of June 2017, Blue and Yellow are sold directly through Revain. (I think other sellers may send you a different colour.) I was very pleased that Revain supplied the item shown in the photo. You really can't go wrong with this.
