excellent iron for the Dier. takes skill to get a good joint.

worthy of iron and pleasant to the touch. It's not very strong and I've found that a wet sponge doesn't really work because it cools too quickly and doesn't allow you to clean it properly. You must use a metal sponge cleaner to keep the tip clean. Also, it's very easy to get a cold solder joint with it, which is why my work told me I can't use it. Great concept but terrible reliability - I failed after only two uses.

I had high hopes for this cordless soldering iron, but unfortunately it disappointed me. I'm a master, if anything. I do several soldering projects (various repairs and modifications to consumer electronics) and my last soldering iron died after a few years. I don't look too closely at brands or specs, but I'm looking for something reasonably priced with decent performance. This cordless soldering iron caught my attention when it was on sale. Crazy Battery Installation

The product is good IF you know how to put batteries. After removing the battery cover, you can see small icons showing the location of the batteries. They are WRONG* and indicate that all 4 AA batteries must be installed with the positive contacts facing the tip of the soldering iron. At first I couldn't even see the icons, so I tried what made sense to me. There are two ways, but only one of them will light the LED.
