Exactly What I Need: Bike Racks and Bags

Just what I need to mount a Topeak roof rack and bag on my Electra Townie. The trunk and bag could not stand straight because the bag might collide with the back of the seat. So I had to tilt the bar back a bit. This made the reach of those arms slightly longer. No problem! Now my Townie is done and looking neat. If your standard Topeak levers aren't long enough, get them. They will do the work for you.

Pros
  • Longer brackets offer more arcs due to the solder holes being closer to the front of the rack.

This is required for bicycles with a small frame.

My wife is 4ft 11" and rides a small frame bike and these are required for proper trunk seating. We haven't had any issues with the mounts or trunk since they were installed. I used a bit of Loctite on the threads to hold it in place a bit better but that was probably too careful. We drive a lot of railways and sometimes things can vibrate. We are very happy with this setup and would recommend it to anyone riding a small bike. Frame.

They work fine. First attach to the frame and then bend to size.

It's a bit annoying to have to spend another $10 on these mounts after buying a $40 stand. I spend a quarter of the cost of the rack on some mounts because I have a small frame. It should just be possible to buy a rack with these longer brackets. If you need them, they work great. Just follow the instructions and attach it to the rack first and then bend it to attach it to the frame. I stripped the screw while attempting this and then vice versa.

Pros
  • 13.5" Mounts
Cons
  • Protection
