Ideal bike rack: garage storage

This system solved our bike problem. Fits perfectly on a BMX bike, three beach cruisers and two mountain bikes as well as all of our helmets. Ease of installation. clear directions.

Reality is 5 bicycles.

It actually only holds five bikes. fit six, but you'll have trouble removing individual bikes with that many. The rail that attaches to the wall is bent in the middle so I drilled another hole from the top and added an extra screw.

Description is misleading

Item received with fixings designed for brick walls. Nowhere on the page or in the description was this information given. I paid $60 to stay with a product I can't use because of fasteners and anchors sticking out of the wall. Doesn't even hold a kid's bike!

Mounting screws do not match wall stud spacing

Love the concept but the mounting screws do not match the wall stud spacing. So you have screws in drywall and others in studs. Also screwing a bike rack into the drywall will rip the drywall even with Molly. For some reason, returning this item is not allowed, but I would like to return it.

Very strong stand. for bike racks and stands

The rack is very durable. Good thing I ordered a 6 bike rack as it only fits 4 full size bikes. Still, it's a very strong stance. I would recommend, if you're not driving screws into a stud in the wall, use a much larger anchor. Due to the weight of 4 bikes, it will bounce out of the wall using the anchors that come with the racks.

Worked well slightly tricky to fit

Not particularly difficult to fit (but read on) and our range of bikes seems to be holding up well. As some other reviewers have pointed out, the segments aren't long enough to fully span two 16-inch bars. They are designed to adjoin each other without overlapping. This means you need to drive the mounting screws into the wall instead of driving them straight in to ensure you drive the screws into the wood studs in your wall. no problem I would buy again.

Too much frame flex and sag for bikes with fat tires.

I bought this item because I have two bikes with fat tires and this item is advertised for them. Well, the hook fits the bike's wheels, but when I installed and tested the frame, the frame flexed so much that I immediately took the bike off for fear of falling. The only way to use this item was to set the frame and hook low enough to allow the bike to rest on the ground, taking the weight off the hook. I could get the same result with a pair of garage hooks for less than $10. If I could give…
