🔆 Dimmable Certified Retrofit Downlight by TORCHSTAR Review

PRO:* Perfect 5000k color is almost identical to sunlight coming from nearby windows. Light my fireplace.* No flicker, just solid light.* Bright! Really helps brighten the room so board games and family time work well. CONS: * Too bright for my 8 foot ceilings. I would be happy if Torchstar could offer their 5-7W version.

I converted a semi finished basement into a sewing and quilting room for my wife. She needed a lot more light than we currently have from 4 can downlights, even with bright bulbs. For less than the floor lamp she was planning to buy I was able to upgrade all four lamps and now she has plenty of light and can focus it exactly where she needs it. Very easy to install (5 minutes) and the gimble is stable and stays in place at an angle. Happy woman happy life.

Product has been great so far and was installed in a matter of weeks. The light output and color are as advertised and we recommend this product. The only problem was that this product is designed to fit in traditional ceiling light housings (jars) and my house had hybrid lights that don't need housings and had to install an additional device to fit well in an old lamp. This worked well, but we recommend checking what type of accommodation you have before purchasing.

zero stars. It's very cheap. This review is for the flat version, not the eyeball. The light rim is where the recessed ring is, over the LED are plastic protrusions made of translucent plastic which looks ridiculous. If you have them very high, like 20-foot ceilings, they'll probably work just fine, but if you're like most, they're extra cheap. My 13 year old son and I installed them in our gable ceilings (8 total). We've replaced the 1980's metal bottom brackets with decorative rings that have aged to a hideous yellow over the years. I've wanted to replace the master bedroom's six 6 inch light fixtures on the vaulted sloping ceilings for a long time and it's perfect. I have a Lutron Maestro remote control dimmer that is not compatible with these devices. They turn on but don't turn off completely.
