I have a mare 16.2 with high withers and correct contour cut, rubbed the rear withers when I didn't put a blanket under her. I bought this pad and can use it alone and it doesn't rub anywhere! Love the style and that you can add padding. I would like you to order a different thickness of pads to better fit my ranch saddle, but it still works.

I was hesitant like so many are with such a thick pad but I have to say I was amazed at how well it fit my horse and absolutely not the rails fit in place and keeps my saddle in the right position perfectly. Never slide forwards or backwards like many other pads made of the same material. In addition, my horse remained completely dry along the spine with even traces of sweat on his back. I will buy it again when they get other color options.

This is VERY well done and a great product. The only thing I don't like is that it doesn't fit my Low Dry Short Mustang due to the build. The withered portion extends longer than the bottom of the pad, so the top is a little flush with the bottom of the neck. But it fits my high withered friend Walker perfectly and solved her saddle slip problem (which is why she bought it for me)! I will buy again if I ever get a horse with higher withers and longer back. :-)

First of all I would like to say that I am extremely disappointed with this mat. I ride a lot and have problems with the pad rubbing against my horse's withers. No, no seat. pillow!
