Description of ๐Ÿ” TOUGH-GRID Ultra-Cord: 100ft, 5,000lb Strength, 15X Stronger Than Steel, Floats! Perfect for Boating, Camping & Towing - Free Shrink Tube - 100% UHMWPE

THE ULTIMATE CORD FOR THE TOUGHEST JOBS ON EARTH" With an average 5,000 pound break strength, this cord is 15 times stronger than traditional steel cable! Need to tow your car or truck out of a ditch? No problem, with Ultra-Cord, it'll be smooth sailing and you'll have the confidence to know you're taken care of. We are now including a FREE 1 foot section of mil-spec, double-walled adhesive shrink tubing with each spool of Ultra-Cord! Compare our Ultra-Cord to Dyneema, Spectraย™ or Amsteel. SAFER CORDAGE Our Ultra-Cord has extremely low elongation, creep, and stretch. This low stretch means the cord stores less energy under tension, making a broken line much safer than other materials. Other cords, cables, and ropes are like thick rubber bands and when they snap, they can be extremely dangerous! If you manage to break our cord, it will fall safely to the ground without causing harm due to the low stretch and low mass. ANCHORS AWAY Ultra-Cord is an excellent material to keep on your boat. Whether you're in a dinghy, keelboat, sport boat, or a yacht, you'll want to keep several lengths of this cord around. It's abrasion, UV, and chemical resistant, making it the perfect rope for just about any job! On top of being super-strong, this cord will not kink, curl, burr, splinter or have any sort of memory at all. This cord is even used to tow Gliders to the skies!. ALL-WEATHER CORDAGE Many cords become stiff or brittle when exposed to extremely low temperatures, but Ultra-Cord from TOUGH-GRID remains completely workable in the harshest conditions. Don't let your environment stop you from having a reliable and workable rope that is stronger than steel!. UNDERSTANDING Ultra-Cord It is extremely strong, durable, abrasion-resistant and light enough to float on water. Colors WILL fade with time and abrasion due to its unique chemistry. This does not compromise the cord, it only affects the color. Ultra-Cord DOES NOT SEAL LIKE PARACORD. The best way to seal the ends is to use 1/4" - 1/8" Heat-Shrink Tubing. Slip a section over the end of the cord and use a blow-dryer, lighter, or other heat source to shrink the tubing without melting the cord.

Excellent rope, I use instead of metal.

Excellent cable used in place of the metal winch cable on the Polaris RZR. Strong, does not bind or bend, lightweight. Tough-Grid provided attentive customer service and even some helpful PDFs on how to use paracord. Highly recommended!

Pros
  • Rugged finish
Cons
  • High price

Great that it's good for tarpaulins and bindings

These people really care about their customers. Before I had a problem they offered to fix it! How cool is that! By the way, never had any problems. The rope was delivered on time they said so and I am VERY impressed. What a fantastic replacement for my tow strap in my pickup truck! Compact and so durable! Great product, great company!

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Small problems

Great article on hardware

This is a great article! Aside from being very strong, the fact that it doesn't stretch, stores energy and comes back to you if you somehow manage to break it makes it super safe to use under heavy loads. I use it on my boat for emergencies. Tow line and guy ropes on the masts of my amateur radio antenna. The only downside is that you have to use the right knots. (Which would be a good idea anyway!)

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

I've been a TOUGH-GRID customer for a long time. This cable.

I have been a TOUGH-GRID customer for a long time. This cable is POWERFUL! Essential for the ATV enthusiast, avid warrior on wheels, or boater (it floats!). I plan on keeping mine in my ATV backpack for overcoming obstacles or using it for 100+ other purposes. I will buy more to stay in my truck. They do an amazing job at TOUGH-GRID by providing us with quality products that demand it. I'd rather overdo my gear than fail.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Compatibility

Neat things. Strong, pleasant to the touch and relatively easy to splice.

Cool stuff. I made a couple of motorcycle mounts with a mounting kit. If Interwebs is accurate and the connections can maintain 90% of the strength of the material, I have a couple of zip ties that shouldn't break until I somehow exceed 9000lbs (created a loop that should double the strength). I would upload a photo, but Revain's Add Photo/Video button doesn't seem to be working right now.

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • Not everything fits

Very Strong Reliable Rope

Don't let the size fool you, this is a strong rope. I used it to pull an ash tree that was 19 inches in diameter and 75 feet tall. This rope was very taut, and she held onto the tree and pulled it straight toward her. Failure would have been catastrophic because I was about 35 feet from the corner of my house. I am very happy with the strength of this rope and it is very easy to tie knots for its size and flexibility.

Pros
  • Good Thing
Cons
  • So-so

Overrated Tarp and Binding Strength

Bought two of these to chop down a tree. Left a slightly thicker loop than usual because the wood started cracking and tipping over. The rope broke at less than 1000lbs trying to fall the tree. The 3,900-pound chain got the job done with no issues. Pros: 1. It's bright2. It swims 3. When it snaps, it doesn't "fall safely" to the ground (flipped over and tangled in surrounding trees), but it doesn't store enough energy to deal significant damage. Bad: 1. Snaps under much less load thanโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
