Bought two of these to chop down a tree. Left a slightly thicker loop than usual because the wood started cracking and tipping over. The rope broke at less than 1000lbs trying to fall the tree. The 3,900-pound chain got the job done with no issues. Pros: 1. It's bright2. It swims 3. When it snaps, it doesn't "fall safely" to the ground (flipped over and tangled in surrounding trees), but it doesn't store enough energy to deal significant damage. Bad: 1. Snaps under much less load than advertised. Bottom Line: Ropes are good for small jobs like camping or setting up swings, but not for mission-critical jobs that require reliability and where your life is at stake.
