I have a 2001 Toyota Tundra and I plugged it directly into the mains. Took me about 20 minutes to hook everything up. Works perfectly.

THIS saved me from being outrageously billed for labor and parts by UHAUL. The instructions are simple and easy, the only tools I needed were a screwdriver and a 12mm socket for the battery mount. I love it and want to say thank you!

No power through transducer block. Have power up to the black box but not in the past. Talk to the company and you can still find out. My 3rd doesn't work. Terrible product went with a splice instead of half price. Never return from the company or give the money back.

The product was exactly what I was looking for. The only downside: if the outgoing cable were a bit longer, you could mount the converter box behind the rear light like a factory converter instead of mounting it on the frame. As far as I know there is no aftermarket connector mounted behind the headlight.

FIX: Initially reported as a poor fit but I have since tucked the correct 11 pin connector in a corner and covered it in dirt but after cleaning found it fully functional. It's too early to say how well the double sided tape will hold up, but after other reports of this drop I've used brake cleaner on both the painted area and the wiring harness module (use sparingly!) to keep clean, uncontaminated ones to obtain surfaces. Great product guide and easy to install. Toyota should be credited for developing pre-existing hitch plug-ins. The only thing that could be better about the kit is the main module that mounts under the truck above the rear license plate, as the self-adhesive material used is almost unusable. Even after cleaning the area thoroughly, the thing stuck for about 5 mins.
