The cotton is thick and cozy, the bathrobe is the right size, but this bathrobe doesn't hold up and the workmanship is questionable. When I received it one of the seams came undone and the loop you use to hang it up had already fallen off. I then had to send it back immediately. Instead I reworked the stitching and attached the buttonhole on our sewing machine (wife was very impressed!). I got this because a reviewer said it looked like the Hammacher Schlemmer robe which I would replace. It is not. It's not that heavy, the fabric loops are bigger and the belt is narrower. I know because I compared two new ones. But a very good robe for the price. And it comes in a plastic bag, not an expensive box, with a logo-printed cloth pouch that's too pretty to throw away but useless to you. I keep this robe. Shrunk a little after washing but fits well. I hate getting cold after getting out of the pool. While I tidy up and put away, my children continue to splash around happily. So essentially I was looking for a "portable" towel. Most of the robes I looked at were pretty thin. I wanted one that was thick and this is the one. When I get out of the pool I just put it on and I can do what I need to do before my kids get out. I'm not cold at all. Even my bathing suit stops dripping pretty quickly. This is amazing for my purposes.

I really like the bathrobe, but threads on the bathrobe broke out after the first wash. Nothing radical, but something I didn't have with my old robe. It should be noted that on the original receipt the robe was completely dangling from me. . . much more than i expected. However, it shrunk in size after the first wash and now fits perfectly.
