Optimized Air Filter for Toyota 17801-0T030 - Genuine Quality Review

This product was packaged in a box marked Genuine Toyota Parts but contained a Denso part. It didn't fit my 2014 Corolla LE. It didn't look like the original filter in my car and didn't fit. The product was too thick (top to bottom) and also too wide. Take this as a lesson, don't buy here again.

I've tried air filters from many different manufacturers and they don't all match the build quality. As long as the original filter is no more than $20, this is the best option. The filter material is thick and fibrous. Now the most important part of the filter is the gasket. Many aftermarket filters are wrong. Although the standard filter gasket is not made of rubber, it is made of very thick, soft paper and fits very well.

This item was offered to me at three times the price plus dealer installation. I knew I would find it at the best price and it's a genuine part too. I received this item very quickly, SUPER easy installation. Fits perfectly, just like the one I replaced. The packaging says Toyota and Lexus, indicating that this is indeed an original part. I highly recommend it for regular car maintenance as it is a very reliable product.

I went to the dealer and they said it was time to change the filter. Their price exceeded $40. Decided to find a cheaper alternative and install it myself. I went to Revain and found that the price difference between the original Toyota and the alternative brand was less than $4, so I went with the original. Installing it on my 2010 Corolla was easy, there are tons of videos on YouTube to walk you through the process. Basically it came in a sealed Toyota/Lexus box.

When I received this filter I noticed that it was different than the last one I bought from Revain. The latter had different markings and a touch of green. This one didn't have green, but a yellow line down the middle. Not sure if it's because of where or when it was made, but all folds and measurements are accurate. Maybe I'll compare it to the retailer's product and see if it's the same, except it's $7 less than the retailer's, and at least I didn't have to drive to the retailer and buy it…
