Real name: Omada Controller, connects your Omada hotspots and provides access to the cloud to create an all-in-one network solution. I have installed these devices for several families in my area in combination with the EAP225. Access points and a PoE switch to power everything. Installing Omada is a great alternative to discounted Ubiquiti Networks UniFi Access Points and Switches. It's cheaper and works just as well. For a stay I would say this is a fantastic option. And it's easy to set up…

Great way to manage all your Wi-Fi APs TP-LINK Omada

You have 3 Omada EAP-225 APs and I read that to use their mesh function you need either the Omada Running controller software must permanently have a Windows or Linux PC or use this device running the controller software. I decided to purchase the OC200 to make my life easier. I'm glad I did. This controller is great. It allows me to manage the three EAPs I currently have and easily add and manage new ones from one central location. I found the centralized management feature to work well on its

No, I don't beta test my network solutions

My Omada solution stack (all TP-Link): Controller: OC200PoE Switch: TL-SG2210MPRouter: TL-ER7206AP1: EAP620 HDAP2: EAP235 - Wall I really I wanted to like it, great clean hardware and cabling options, but the Omada SDN software just isn't ready for prime time use. Basic network functions are missing, such as: - Allowing (dynamically) set up one-way connections between VLANs. . Their solution is to set up static routes, which is terrible for IoT. Static DHCP assignments. Their solution is to set

There is room to grow, especially at home.

This OC200 controller plus two (for now) EAP225v3: just the right size for my home, with plenty of room to grow. And a lot cheaper than (my next alternative) the Orbi Wi-Fi system. It might not have been as easy to set up as an all-in-one system, but it wasn't too bad, especially with the videos and tutorials already available. And now I have a very scalable core, and over time I've gotten smarter (unleashing the inner nerd?) when it comes to home networking. What I really wanted was (1) no…
