When I'm not applying wet vinyl I use plastic transfer tape. It's strong enough to lift your vinyl, yet easy to wear without leaving a residue. You can use it multiple times before it's time to get a new piece. The grid is very handy for aligning everything. I even use it to transfer vinyl to drywall and it never sticks to the wall or paint. When I sell decals I have no hesitation in sending this tape along with the decals and have never had a complaint.

I love this transfer tape! I've been looking for something that will work as well as the original Quickutz transfer tape (circa 2006-2008) and it fits the bill. It has just the right amount of stickiness and is quick and easy to remove from installed vinyl without ripping off tiny bits. I was surprised at how big he is which gives him a good body to work with. It also has texture on the top that gives you a good grip. Gridlines are useful but can be distracting on designs smaller than 8" x 8"…

So I just started working with my cricut and vinyl using stencil contact paper to spray paint some wood posters. A lot of advice on the internet suggested that clear contact paper would also work great as transfer tape, especially if it was "peeled off" by taping the contact paper onto clothing a few times.
