Works as advertised

I tested it with a Cisco Aironet 3600 and it worked perfectly. Obviously it needs a POE+ port to power it and you really only get a device up to 15.4W for work or a couple of phones. I ended up using it to replace a failed 8-port switch that connects all my audio/video equipment at home. Having one less power cord is great.

PDs must specify their power class

It looks like PDs connected to PoE passthrough ports will need to specify their power class. Otherwise, only a PoE pass through the port will work. I could not override this feature in this vendor's product. Online support was fast.

PoE support sucks, you can't even use a modern browser, have you given up on the software?

So I read all the reviews but my use case was so simple I figured TRENDnet couldn't be "that" bad. I was wrong. Latest firmware from 2019. I tried to open it in a modern browser and the web interface does not load. It sits and spins forever. Upload it to IE (yes, IE in 2021) and it works great. Second, when faced with power issues, the Switch seems to self-respect the default value. In my case I connected to another PoE switch and without disconnecting devices it kept dropping. The device died after 2 months

I bought this device 2 months ago. There was a power outage in my entire neighborhood last night. Power was restored after 4 hours. This device has failed, the LEDs are off, there is no power. I have tried many times to contact support but I have not been able to contact anyone. I'll call support again tomorrow and hope for luck.

Problem solved for network products

This is the ideal solution to power the switch in a place where there is no outlet. My situation is multiple ethernet cables running from a phone booth to different rooms. Now I put that switch there, all the rooms are connected. The switch body is made of metal and the power consumption is quite small. So overheating doesn't bother me.

I got the wrong switch

I misread the description, I was under the impression that this is a POE repeater switch. For example if I had a POE switch it would be a remote POE switch which I wouldn't need to get power, it's just a regular POE switch.

I should have trusted the other reviews. I connected this device, turned it on and then connected my two cameras. Only the first connected camera is switched on. I even tried another POE powered switch and 1 camera but only the first connected device turns on. The device has a nice user interface, but does not do what is advertised.
