Travel Outlet Multiplier

I travel a lot and this product has been my lifesaver. It's so troublesome to connect the electronic devices I use on business trips. With this outlet, I can plug in my laptop, charge my phone and tablet, and have enough space in case I need it. I hate turning my work tools on and off all the time. It doesn't have many outlets, but it's suitable for travelers. It comes with a small carrying case so I can put it in my carry-on and not worry about damaging my tablet's screen or scratching…

Cons

Ideal for multiple devices.

This one has two 3-pin sockets and 2 USB charging ports. The 2 amp charging ports are designed to quickly charge things like tablets or even phones. I use it as the main outlet on my countertop where I usually charge my devices. I connect two USB cables for phones or tablets and an Apple charger to the front socket. All cables run through a small stand that hides them and holds the phones. I like it very much and am completely satisfied with it. I've also used it when traveling, which is…

Watch out for slow loading times.

USB has 4 wires: power, ground, data+, data-. I've found that most USB chargers short out the data lines. This is a USB standard that tells the device that it's connected to a charging port (not a computer) and will draw a higher current to charge the battery faster. I've tested several chargers that come with ohmmeter devices and proved that the data lines are indeed shorted. When I tested Tripp Lite, the data lines were not shorted. As a result, my phone only draws 500 milliamps from the…

A little inconvenient for a mains socket, but overall good.

The gray connector on the front requires a slight movement to plug in the power cord. It's not bad, almost imperceptible when using an easy-to-reach plug, but inconvenient when you're reaching for furniture to plug this thing in. Overall performance from the USB ports is lower than we'd like, but if you're plugging in at a hotel overnight you'll never notice, and if you're using a low-drain device with a high-drain device, you won't notice it doesn't play either Role. My tablet and phone charge

Good outlet for travel.

This is a neat little device. It has a total of three outputs with two USB 2.1 A ports and is slightly larger than I thought it would be, but about the size of a deck of cards and twice the thickness. It comes in a small velvet pouch, which is very convenient. So when I put it in my carry-on I don't have to worry about crumbs or other small debris getting into the sockets and ports. I was a little nervous about the pins, they flex in opposite directions, the ground pin flexes in the middle of…

A must have for travelers

I got this to charge my travel router but ended up getting used to a lot more. I travel a lot for work and often find myself in hotel rooms with only one or two outlets available. (It's not the Ritz.) It used to be a real agony to choose between a watch, lamp, laptop, phone charger, or iPad. If you've been charging your camera battery or anything else that's blocking outlets, you've really lost a hose. Tripp Lite 3 has arrived, and boom, problems solved. It takes the top plug and gives you 3…
