Excellent choice for serious trail running

Just what I need for medium to long distance trail running (10-30 miles). Bought a few options and sent them back before I found this. The sheer adjustability of this vest is amazing. I'm tall but lean - 230 pounds of muscle - which means I have some interesting contours to work with and I can achieve the perfect fit. My iPhone 8+ in the Otterbox Defender fits in one of the front pockets (grows out but doesn't go anywhere), in the front there is enough room for another bottle (with wrist…

Surprisingly light weight; Love it!

This hydro jacket is incredible! When I run I usually take as little as possible with me (shorts, shoes, shirt and all) so I was very hesitant to get anything that could add any look. Weight. Even with two full water bottles, the weight is hardly noticeable due to the distribution in the vest. Elastic cords keep water bottles secure and prevent them from bouncing while moving. When properly fastened the vest barely moves and there has been no chafing or chafing from frequent movements and I've…

but it's great. Yes, it adds some warmth.

After trying all the ways to keep the water and phone going, I finally found one that didn't require any adjustment. I've tried a folding belt, two hydration belts, hand flasks, armbands and leg pouches. I thought the vest was overkill, but it was great. Yes, it adds a little warmth on an already hot day, but it doesn't bounce around and holds plenty of icy water. I don't even notice the added weight of the water. The front pockets are the best. I have a Galaxy 8 (in my pocket) in a front…

Sophisticated water bladder (updated)

First impression is that I really like this hydrator. It has multiple straps to adjust the fit to keep it snug and prevent bouncing. I also love all the storage bags. I had to deduct a star (almost 2) for the hydrator. It is closed by folding the top down and then sliding a plastic clip down to hold it closed. The problem is that it is very difficult to "slide" on rubber with a plastic clip. I would have liked a screw cap filler neck like the Camelback. Update: Mea culpa. Upgrade from 4 to 5…

keep a pack Throw away your bubble.

This is the perfect backpack for any runner. I've used this for my long distance runs (currently I'm using it for two 20 mile runs). It's very light and sits perfectly on the shoulders (doesn't bounce while running). There are two pockets on the front; enough room to fit a phone with an external battery in a pocket (to clarify the size, you could probably fit 4 phones in a pocket and there's still room). The straps help keep everything inside and the additional zippered pockets are great for…

Great backpack for the price, perfect for marathons and 50k training runs.

I am an avid runner and my longest runs are 3-4 hours. 50K cross-country is my drug of choice. I already have three different running sets, but none of them are suitable for long runs. When I first started looking for a new backpack, I had certain requirements. Space for a 2 liter water bladder was a must; A lot of packs these days focus on front-loading bottles, but I prefer rear-loading bottles. I also wanted to have large pockets for groceries (sandwiches, energy bars, etc.), preferably in…

Comfort and great fit

This is my first running vest and I am very happy with it so far. I chose the hydration vest because the style of the running backpack bounces and moves as I run. I like that access to water and snacks is right from the front of the vest keeping you safe and comfortable. The first thing that struck me about this vest is how well constructed it looks. Sewing is very good, materials are good. The only material I'm not sure about is on the edges (you see close-ups in the photos). To be honest, I…

  • Some difficulties

I've wanted a vest like this for a long time. I've run two long runs (10 miles each), two medium runs (7 and 5 miles) and a half marathon (13.1 miles) with it since it came in the mail. This vest frees my hands but I can still carry it around. 2 packs of Cliff Energy Blok (in top left zippered pocket), salt (small top right pocket), phone (bottom left pocket), extra Gatorade water bottle between Cliff Bloks (bottom right pocket), keys (bottom left deep pocket) ) .
