Poles don't retract so you should be fine with 8'. They are also a bit thin for this length. One cracked in half on a windy day. We will buy REI next time.

These were perfect for my sunscreen! Big enough that I could take cover without ducking. You didn't sleep for 4 consecutive days at the music festival and you never flinched. Very happy with this purchase!

I used these on two corners of a Kelty Nah tarp. Worked perfectly. I had the official Kelty sticks but they were too big to fit in my luggage. They were a bit smaller and couldn't be adjusted, but they were exactly what I was looking for.

Great product but I got it wrong when ordering and thought they were height adjustable. It turns out these bars aren't actually "adjustable" other than removing one of the sections. They were too long for my first use and I removed a section that only lasted a few minutes. They work great and are great value.

Great price. They are easy and simple. Each end can be easily pulled out to connect/disconnect the inner elastic, which comes in handy when you want to change the number of poles. Note that they are not as strong as larger diameter tarp posts and will flex under higher loads such as high winds on the tarp. But still excellent value for money. :)

These are good sticks but I think the Keltie sticks are a little better. Kelty sticks are likely to be more expensive, so you'll have to decide if the slightly better quality is worth the difference in price. Note that although they are advertised as longer, the max height for this and Kelty rods is actually the same, probably because they measure max height past the last click point.

These bars are cheaply made. Although the shipping box was undamaged, the bars were broken, most likely due to poor quality. One of the brackets at the top of one rack was broken. The canvas pole at the top of one of the poles was broken and pushed into the pole. When I first opened the box I was pleasantly surprised to see a tote bag inside, but it's also poorly made. The zip is so cheap that the closed zip will open at both ends of the bag. How can a bag contain poles if the bag cannot remain
