Description of Tsubaki 40B40FL Finished Sprocket Single

Single strand sprocket with one set of teeth around the circumference for applications where a single chain can support the torque and load. Pitch of 1/2 inch for size 40 chains. Ready-to-install finished bore with a wide hub on one side. Type B sprocket with a hub projection on one side to accommodate various types of bushings to help prevent sprocket from slipping on the shaft. Sprocket teeth help prevent slipping and binding to avoid power loss in assemblies.

Very good except.

Very good quality, precise workmanship and perfect fit. But not for chain #40. Although the description says the sprocket is for chain #40, the teeth are too wide and the chain #40 only fits 2/3. I managed to process it appropriately though. In the picture you can see the machining on both sides of the part. The steel is extremely hard so I have to hand smooth the teeth to keep the sharp edges from cutting through the chain. I know for sure my chain is #40 because the machinist checked it. The…
