Easy to Install X5 2012 BMW

BMW wanted $150 for a non-install part. Under $30 I watch videos and do it myself. I'm a woman and I was very excited to be able to fix my car.

It is really easy to install and looks like OEM

Please don't be afraid to do this repair. It's really very simple and only requires two TORX screws. Basically, the outer cover that matches the car's upholstery is held in place by these plastic latches that attach to the inner frame that bolts to the door. To remove the old one, simply pull the outer part of the cover, work and twist until it comes loose. No tools are required to remove this part. It will require some arm strength that my arm fits snugly against. But just keep pulling andโ€ฆ

Easy to install, X5 2012 BMW

BMW wanted $150 for a part with no installation. For less than $30 I can watch a video and do it myself. I'm a woman and I was very excited to be able to fix my car.

Super easy to work

Easy installation. If you have 10 and 20 torx bits and an internal plastic pry bar, this installation will take less than 5 minutes. Only 3 screws. And what's the difference. This part is hard plastic as opposed to the broken BMW part which is covered in rubber.

You need the right tools!

This is a great replacement for sticky/sticky doorknobs. However, replacement requires the right tools, otherwise removal and replacement is not possible! The pictures show a tool to remove the fairing, but then it just says "unscrew 3 screws", they are circled in the picture. This does NOT mean that special torque bits are required to remove and reinsert these screws. Luckily my son had these tools and we were able to complete the exchange.
