I really like the new TV-B-Gone.

I have another TV-B-GoneI that I bought a few years ago that only has a range of about 6 feet. This new one blocks the ubiquitous enemy propaganda from over six meters away!

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Functionality

You hate crates full of zombies like me?!

I go to the 24-hour gym at night. The place is empty but all TV screens are on without exception, dozens and dozens! TV-B-Gone to the rescue, double click ("Stealth Mode"), and in a few seconds I can finally work out without feeling like I'm in a TV store!

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • The cord is shorter than other picks

TV B GONE Works as advertised

I've had this for a few weeks now and have used it about 10 times, always at doctor's offices or fast food places. Only once did it not work and I was sitting more than 20 feet away. Now if I could get a button to stop the administrators in the doctor's offices from bringing the roaring monster back to life, that would be perfect. Some people have physical limitations that make sensory overload a real problem. TVs that yell at you all the time are harmful to us. No one asked me if I wanted toโ€ฆ

Great conversation starter!

I'm a musician and I play regularly in clubs that usually have a show or game being broadcast. Really distracting when you're trying to get people's attention. Every band member I play with who sees the power of this little device in action never stops asking "where can I get it?". I gave many of them away. One night I turned off 53 screens in a bar and the owner went nuts until I told him what had happened. For example, this can be DANGEROUS for an unscrupulous business owner who relies onโ€ฆ

Too big Best in Audio & Video Accessories

My problem is not with the function of the product but with its physical design. what did you think you were doing?! The TV-B-Gone is significantly larger than my car and apartment keys and makes my key really bulky. Shining through the device, I see a very simple, two-layer, trapezoidal circuit board. and unreasonably large. The coin cell holder and a can-shaped electrolytic capacitor are the largest components (along with a few small chips) and could fit into a much smaller and thinnerโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Good but not great

You need it if you hate TV

I got one of these in the early 2000's and found it very handy for shutting down the idiot boxes that blare loudly in most establishments. After the battery died and my ex stole it, I forgot about it all until I ended up at the doctor's office with a LOUD TV that no one saw (oddly enough people have these amazing phones to talk to now) and kept myself away from it off to read my book. I wanted to drown it out - and that's when I came up with this little invention! Although I wish it would letโ€ฆ

Don't you want to watch that annoying TV? Turn it off!

Ok, it doesn't work on every TV, but it's not very expensive either - what can you expect? However, when it works, it can be a lot of fun. A story from a few years ago: There was a pizzeria that insisted on turning on the TV no matter what, even (or especially) when it was obvious that nobody cared. I mean college golf on a local station? But the policy of the owners was: "If you watch TV, eat; if they talk, they don't eat." So if the TV mysteriously turns off, nobody worries. until one of theโ€ฆ
