I am an embedded engineer. I am currently working on a project using my client's custom control board. This control board was designed to use contact closure to turn power on and off. I used this product as a power switch. A power switch is handy as I frequently turn the control board on and off, for example to safely remove or insert the jtag connector, peripherals, etc. He does his job well. I would buy this again.

Switches aren't bad in principle, although I haven't used them for a long time. My complaint is that since they are round (which is why I bought them) the indexing lug is important to keep them from rotating in the mount. However, the indexing slots on them end just short of the bezel, so they rotated fully on the 1/16 inch thick aluminum plate I installed. I'd say using it on something thicker than 1/8" might work (although the index barely grabs at 1/8), but certainly not on anything thinner.

The amount of positive feedback is incredible. I've only used two of these in two different Bluetooth speakers, one of which was a gift (great). BOTH broke quickly after only a few months of occasional use. Both are just stuck and won't toggle now. Forcing doesn't do anything other than smooth it out (everything that serves as a fulcrum seems bent or broken). And I'm pretty sure I've turned it on and off less than 20 times on the speaker I have left. It's terrible reliability. I don't even care
