Other commenters were right - there is slight distortion around the edges of the mirror but nothing dangerous for driving. Installation is nasty, but it's Honda's fault, not the mirror :) All in all, for a mirror replacement on a 13 year old car, it couldn't get any better - much cheaper than going to the dealership or garage. listed.

This item includes a mirror, an outer housing that houses the mirror and wiring. It comes exactly as pictured therefore no mirror assembly is required. It even comes with the necessary screws and insulation to mount the mirror housing to the car. Note: You still need to complete the assembly to attach the mirror housing to the car, but the mirror itself is already installed in the mirror housing.

The part is installed correctly and is the correct size, but the view through the mirror is not good at all. It shows a wavy image with a lot of distortion at the edges. For example, power poles that are straight in reality look curved in the mirror. The effect during movement is that objects bend and distort as they pass through the specular field of view. The distortion is pretty noticeable even from the back seat or passenger side when I asked my family to check it out.

Easy installation and perfect fit. The dealer wanted $250 for this part alone and it was sold out. If I had ordered it through a retailer I would have waited 2-4 weeks for delivery and paid 5 times as much. The mirror also came with new mounting screws and foam gasket which was paid extra through the dealer. As other reviews have said there is some distortion in the mirror but it is negligible. With what I have, it's not that bad. (I suspect the level of distortion might be the carrying case.) It's more obvious when it's standing than when it's moving. While driving, I realized that I did not notice any distortion due to the general vibrations of the car and the fact that you do not have to look in the mirrors for a long time.
