Shorts are fine. They fit my waist perfectly, but if you have big hips (like squats, lunges, leg presses) and a big butt, they're going to be very tight around the above body parts.

Pockets sewn into side seam to prevent unraveling. They're pretty tight so you don't feel like you're wearing a parachute when you swim. On the other hand, this means that the pockets are a little tight. I liked them so much I bought a second pair.
