It doesn't have a smooth cleaning blade. One side is slightly serrated, which works terribly when peeled. It's more like trying to scrape the skin off the product you're trying to peel. And the other side is supposed to be julienne, but I don't know; I couldn't get over how embarrassing it was to clean something with the side to be cleaned. I really wanted this peeler to be liked and as soon as I opened the box I knew what I wanted. It is very durable and makes a well-made impression. I grabbed a potato and tried the julienne feature first and it worked really well. It was cool but I knew I would never use it. The problem started when I used the page cleaner. Well made and inexpensive. Dishwasher safe, but I just rinse it and go. The blades are very sharp and allow you to change the thickness by pressing harder. I don't see where there could be problems. Yes, it's made in China, but the design parameters considered how the product will be used and allowed for reasonable blade play. Many peelers have the blades set too tight, preventing them from rotating properly. Others are set too loose, and after a while the blade will come loose from the body. I

This item is heavy and appears to be of high quality. However, I found the bowl or straw to be no better than the cheaper tools I have. For this reason I gave three stars. However, I had to send it back as the julienne cutting head kept coming off. While it was easy enough to put the little tabs back into the holes to reinstall the cutter, it was frustrating.
