I think it works

I think it works. You never know a surge protector is working until a surge occurs. That's good insurance for my expensive router and outdoor POE antenna. I would have liked a more secure seat. A screw on the back is a bit annoying.

Let's hope it works!

I have an underground Cat6 line that was recently struck by lightning and blew my switch. So I got it and was pleased with how easy it was to install. It also looks nice, although mine isn't visible. When my line is up and running again I will update the review.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • A little dented

Didn't protect against surges

We were told to buy four of these devices to protect the nano transmitter and receiver to feed the internet into our home from the public antenna. I told the IT guy that given what I know about lightning rods as a solar installer, I'm not at all sure they will protect the electronics from lightning surges. Fool, I listened to him instead of myself. The nano-transmitter lasted a few months and was killed not by a direct hit but by lightning from god knows where. Might work against surges in your

Pros
  • Amazing
Cons
  • Some bugs

These ethernet surge protectors are good for the first line of defense. They use GDT (Gas Discharge Tube) components to absorb surges, which is common as the first line of defense against surges caused by lightning. I would suggest a faster device like the APC PNET1GB as a second line of defense after you run the cable into your building.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • weak

Multimode protection

, I have spent a lot of time searching for surge protection products for my business. I needed CAT 5 surge protection for my home. I looked at all the options online and bought a few. I took them all apart. These devices have by far the best protection, and they're not even the most expensive. Most surge protection products are counterfeit. Save your money and gear, get this. Another great and expensive product from Ubiquiti!

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Dear

Does not protect against lightning surges

We were told to buy four of these devices to protect the nano transmitter and receiver so the internet can reach our home via the public antenna.
