The Good and the Bad - Surveillance DVRs

Good: Low power NVR in a small form factor with supposedly expandable storage, although all I need is 2TB. Management via web interface, SSH or direct connection. Although the software itself is available as a free download that could potentially be downloaded onto anything from a Raspberry Pi to an old Windows laptop, it works well on this small computer. First of all I would like to say that I am a big fan of this brand. They create fantastic devices for Wi-Fi and long-distance networks. camera systems? Not as much. I'm an IT pro - you expect this thing to be reliable - with minimal maintenance it should "just work". nope With multiple locations installed and only a few cameras per location, this device will crash after a few months and stop working long before the hard drive is full. BREAK! (I was able to start with their tech support to be honest)

I recently bought a new Ubiquiti NVR and G3 camera to replace the same items that have failed. I connected the camera and immediately found it on my network. I connected the NVR and quickly found it online. Then I tried to control the camera with the NVR and saw a "Firmware not supported" error. I updated the firmware on the dash cam and camera but it still didn't work. So I went to google to see what was wrong. Well it looks like the NVR needs to be upgraded from 3.8 to 3.10.
