Neptune Apex Aquabus Extender

I used these to extend the aquabus USB cable on a Neptune Apex system. I also needed a jack-to-jack ethernet connection for this to work. They worked great for my application. Instead of using the expensive Neptune Aquabus cable, I used it to extend my system over 50 feet.

Pros
  • Computer cable adapter
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Not working properly

I wanted to connect a USB stick to the ethernet port on my wireless router so that the hard drive can be used as network storage. The drive never showed up on the network or as a device connected to the router. (For reference, the drive mounts when connected directly to my computer.)

Pros
  • Serial adapters
Cons
  • Nothing here

DOES NOT WORK for HP 3512

I'm sure this will work with the right devices. This does NOT work on my HP Deskjet 3512. I wanted to use the USB printer port and connect it to the Ethernet port, but it didn't work. The router does not recognize this as a valid Ethernet connection. It's a shame because it's a great idea.

Pros
  • Lightweight, portable and ideal for on the go lifestyle
Cons
  • Secret

Couldn't get it to work

I gave 4 stars because the product itself is fine but I can't get it to work. I was trying to connect my HP Photosmart 7510 to my network. The HP software doesn't recognize it and the HP software won't let me connect. The only options are WiFi, which I don't want to use anymore, and USB for a computer, which is also useless to me. I've read another review where some have worked with some printers, but my HP Photosmart 7510 isn't one of them.

Pros
  • Lightweight, portable and great for an active lifestyle
Cons
  • Some little things
