Breakthrough GPIO is the winner. Everything else?. Fur!

First the cons. (-) The multicolored cable makes no sense and serves no purpose other than to increase costs. (-) The breadboard is segmented and has two sets of power rails. The ad shows it, but I missed it. That means if you want the power rails to be next to each other you have to connect them with a jumper. More inconvenience than anything, but it will cost you 8 pin positions. (See my attached photo where I added the red and black jumper wires) Pros (+) The breakout board is narrower than…

Great time saver!

The "features" listed in this review seemed completely unrelated to features, so they were left blank. This item arrived quickly and made my Raspberry Pi prototype a lot easier! The individual wires on the GPIO connector can be tricky to work with and can easily come loose. This gave a clean interface from the Pi to my breadboard for circuit prototyping. It also made it easy to swap out and test different "models" of the Pi without the need for a naughty tangle of cables to wrestle and sort…

This kit is very well put together.

I couldn't be happier with this purchase. It was well packaged in a very nice shipping box. The container is very well designed to help with the different component lengths in the kit. I will look up the name of this company next time I need to purchase similar products. Glory!

Great addition to the PI if you're an experimenter

This is a well designed, well built product that does exactly what it's supposed to do. If you play around with connecting additional hardware to the Pi, it becomes 10x easier. My only criticism is that there is crosstalk with high speed signals, but that's not really the product's fault, just a function of cable length and physics.

Works great: desktop barebones

I wasn't trying to compare to others but I needed a breadboard, a ribbon cable for my Pi and a way to connect the ribbon cable to the breadboard so this was just that what i needed and it works great. Male to Male Jumper Cables, You can also get some male and female cables if you want to go from a breadboard to another PCB with pins on it.

LOVE IT, compared to another one I've bought it's amazing

These are my first thoughts. The GPIO is well made and all the solder joints look good. The breadboard is the same as any others I have. I have to say I'm very excited to use it as I haven't done it yet. The quality is much better than the REXQualis I bought that sits in my desk drawer. Will update as I use it.

GPIO extension - good but with limitations

I like the extra connector on the ribbon cable. This allows me to connect the LCD to the ribbon cable since it is already connected to the box. The PCB print is legible, although narrower than the other extension I have. The holes on the breadboard appear to be a little loose, but have not caused any problems so far. Pushing the expansion board's pins into the breadboard caused some of the metal strips on the underside to pop out. Putting them back in was easy enough. The jumper wires look well

Poor instructions, good chip

The instructions were misrepresented as mentioned by others. The cable orientation is correct in the manual, but the colors are printed upside down (black cable on top). I plugged it in first and the PWR LED didn't light up, so I figured the chip might be DOA. Luckily I didn't fry my new Pi4 or chip! I actually had to read the tiny maze at the bottom of the chip to figure out where the pin connections went and to make sure they were connected properly. It turns out that in order to navigate the
