Description of 💡 UCTRONICS Raspberry Pi 4 PoE HAT: Power Over Ethernet Expansion Board for Raspberry Pi 4 B and 3 B+

For Pi 4 and 3 B+: This PoE HAT can be used to deliver clean and reliable power to the raspberry pi 3 model B+ and raspberry pi 4 model B (not included). Output Power: DC 5V (2.5A Max); Total Power Budget: 12.5W; IEEE 802.3af Compliant. Smaller Size: Nearly half the official size, save more space for your other hardware, can be held in the most case for Raspberry Pi. Well-ventilated Environment Recommended: It’s normal to become hot when the HAT operating. Please make sure the adequate air circulation to help it dissipate heat to ensure stable operation. If used with Pi 4, you can search ASIN B07WMNXB4V to get the case with the fan. NOTE: The network switch or power sourcing equipment (PSE) is needed to supply the PoE signal, and they must be compliant with the IEEE 802.3af or 802.3at PoE standard, particularly section 33.4.1 with regards to PSE electrical isolation of the leads. For the non-isolated switch, such as some Ubiquiti switches can not provide proper isolation, they can only work with CAT 5E and CAT 6E network cable.

Not universally compatible with all PoE

Pros: * Works * Offers enough power to power a 7" touchscreen * Very easy to attach * Super slim * Maintains access to (almost all) Pins on the PiCon * It may not match my (slightly older) Nortel/Avaya PoE switch. It flashes for a second and then goes off again. Instead, it works well with Unifi's PoE injector. *No pins were provided for the 5V/Gnd pins it covers on the Pi. I had to take my own and solder them. A 2 minute challenge as I had them in stock and have experience with them, but it's…

Not universally compatible with all PoE

Pros: * It works * It provides enough power to power a 7 inch touch screen * It is very easy to attach * Super slim * Keeps access to (almost all) contacts on the PiCon * It cannot negotiate with my (slightly older) Nortel/Avaya PoE switch. It flashes for a second and then goes off again. Instead, it works well with Unifi's PoE injector. *No pins were provided for the 5V/Gnd pins it covers on the Pi. Good, but serious flaws!

So good. It fits very well in a compact case with an HDMI capture card that can be used for IP-KVM. The disadvantage is. It burns the cake and poe port when used. I thought I shorted out the first one, burned out the 8GB pie as well as my PoE switch in addition to the 4GB pie before figuring it out. So great form factor. Very easy to install. Nice and compact. The pens make it very useful. The only disadvantage. I can't use it! Does not work with HDMI capture card. I'm not sure why. Luckily…

The smaller version now has pins for its own fan

I bought the smaller version which doesn't come with a fan. I was glad they eventually added extra pin extensions on the side so you no longer have to solder your own pins to replace those covered by the cap (it covers 6 GPIO pins - 3V, both 5 V, ground and both serial clock pins). This makes it easy to add your own 3.3V or 5V fan, and you should, because as others have pointed out, it gets pretty hot. The smaller version fits the CPU heatsinks, but to fully install it you'll need to remove any
