We are working on a second cable tie. We have to replace it every 6 months or so because our 2 dogs are knotting it and the clips are starting to rust and wear out. We've used several others and the cable's coating is beginning to crack, allowing the cable to rust and break after a few months, especially in the winter months. This is the first thing that does not crack either in hot summers or in cold winters.

I have tried several of these chains for walking with a dog. My dog is 65 pounds of solid muscle. The sheath perfectly protects a metal wire from atmospheric influences. It's very strong, but after a year or two the clips start to rust. I'm not a big fan of feathers as my dog can pull hard enough to stretch them. As already mentioned, they served a couple of years. Unfortunately we didn't test further as they don't hold up well to the mower.

I only wear it for a few days. So far they seem strong enough to keep my 75+ pitties in check. What I didn't like were the sharp edges of the coils. With such high power and the need for a quick response, sharp metal parts can cause injury. First let's see how they work. The plastic part that is supposed to cover the welding point of the supply lines has already come loose. Not sure how it will hold up after a few seasons of getting wet or snowing as they will not be covered.

The best tie we've found. Spent the extra $$$ on durability after testing four other leashes for our two dogs. They were always chewing metal or breaking it somehow. until we receive them. Two of these and they are installed. They don't tangle due to their stiffness, which is a big plus over really pliable ones. They're the perfect length for us and available in any pitch you want. They have strong clips with pull shock absorbers. And our dogs couldn't give them a male mark. Also, they cost 1/3

This tie wire works whether you're hooking it to a tree or attaching it to a screw in a ground stake. Our 7 month old loves to run around, be curious and climb into the neighbour's yard. With this cable, the cable itself still looks new no matter how hard she pulls and tugs at it. When attached to a tree, the cable jacket has nothing to do with it.
