Not as vibrant as I was Hoping

So I want to preface this with I think I’m at fault partially for what went wrong. However, this yellow is not as vibrant as some of the photos lead you to believe. I was working with a mahogany, so that might be part of the issue. I ended up buying a yellow pigmented acrylic dye instead and it got me to where I need to be. I will say it isn’t as easy to use as this product. It goes on evenly and drys fast. If I was using a lighter wood I think it would have worked much better. But seeing how I

Pros
  • 8 ounces
Cons
  • Can be difficult to shake or stir without splattering

NICE DYE. LOUSY PACKAGING.

Only tried on basswood so far, but left a nice rich color. Problem is the cheap cardboard insert in the cap. It comes off and adheres to the bottle top when you unscrew the cap. You have to pick it off (getting dye on your fingers) and re-insert in the cap every time you open it. I think I fixed the problem by gluing the insert to the cap, but this shouldn't be something the customer has to remedy.

Pros
  • highly pigmented! Looks just like the color on the label.
Cons
  • May require specialized equipment for proper application

Never expose finished item to sunlight!

I loved everything about this product. I covered it with 4 coats of an outdoor rated spar varnish. 2 weeks in the sun, and it had bleached to pink and the green had bleached to brown. 2 more weeks and the green was indistinguishable from raw wood with varnish over it. The red is a mottled, blotchy hint of pink, wood color. The blue from the same company that I used has held up well.

Pros
  • Beautiful color and easy to use
Cons
  • Stains skin easily and is difficult to remove

Love this stuff! best in my review

I had used an alternate purple dye on my project and it faded horribly in the sun. I took this and went over it in dire hopes that it would fix this major ick mess I had on my hands. Not only did it make it look 100 times better, it doesn't fade! It has been in the sunlight multiple times, and it didn't lighten at all. It also doesn't leave that horrible brownish metallic color behind. I haven't had any purple rub off on any items I set on the dyed wood either. I am really really happy with…

Pros
  • The color of this stain is very colorful ! I love the brilliant colors of this wood dye!
Cons
  • Can be difficult to apply without streaks

Nice Bright Dye in my review

I used this on IKEAs Tarva Side Table for my mom and it came out wonderfully. It wasn't very difficult to use, I didn't even really sand it correctly and it still came out nice. The color changes depending on the light but it is a very nice purple. I used the Emerald City Green for my dresser (IKEA Tarva Dresser) and I love it.I covered it with wipe on water based Polyurethane which was actually the most time consuming part.

Pros
  • Great for dyeing Wood and Natural fibers
Cons
  • May be difficult to apply evenly

Thin, light and fast drying

It's a lot thinner than I was expecting. Applying the stain with a rag was iffy at best. Using a foam brush worked really well. The red is a bit lighter than I was expecting though, closer to a a dark pink on the first coat. A second coat made it pretty close to what the color on the label is though. I'm definitely buying more in different colors for quick stain jobs.

Pros
  • Really easy. Color was perfect
Cons
  • Can be difficult to dispose of properly

Great Looking Easy tomUse Dyes

I’ve done a couple guitars with this and they look awesome. A few coats of dye, 6-12 coats of Tru-Oil, some sanding in between and you’re looking good with some real interesting colors. Don’t use the spray can. You’ll be sorry. I was. Use the dye.

Pros
  • went on easily. dyed the wood. Was hoping for darker color, but then again, it was oak
Cons
  • Strong odor
