Our German shepherd has a bad toe and we tried to protect him. She didn't like wearing them and they fell off very often. We couldn't use them on her. Your dog might be better off, but it didn't work for us.

These shoes were big enough – 4”. There are two thick rubber pads in the ankle area for this. I think they are so as not to rub. But in my case, the puppy's paws are so big that they can't squeeze through the pads. So I returned them.

I have tried three different brands of dog boots for my Great Danes and Bullmastiffs and this has been the best design yet. The dogs were running around the yard playing when I first put these boots on them and the boots didn't slip or fall off. Ultra Paws also had the best range of sizes. I like that they are more like mittens which seem to be more comfortable for dogs.

I bought these because my dog had paw ulcers over the winter and the snow/mud seemed to make them worse even after a thorough cleaning after being outside. It got to the point where I could only let her go outside to potty and not with her sister encouraging her to walk. She's a 50-pound pit bull, but she has petite paws. We bought these for our 16 year old dog who has joint pain. They work great to keep it from sliding on our hardwood floors. It no longer slips or scratches the floor! We have a 15 year old Lab Doberman mix who had a nasty phone call about a month ago.
