Ultra Web Cartridge Filter Wet Pickup Review

This filter is a huge improvement over the original, it can be used wet or dry, it is fairly easy to clean and has the suction power of my vacuum compared to my used filter around that Improved 10 times. Excellent value for money and quality. I looked for the filter in 4-5 stores and they were all more expensive than this one and much lower quality although they could only be used in DRY environments.

I bought this to replace the original that came with my shop vacuum. The original was just really nasty with all the mix of garage work and wet vacuuming over the years. I probably should have replaced it much sooner, but oh well. So far this filter has been a great replacement, the suction is still very strong and the smell is gone! Easy to install and perfectly matched.

In case anyone is wondering, this is actually a better quality filter paper - it's NOT just a cheap blue colored filter. I've used it to clean up drywall sanding dust and haven't gotten hit. When it got clogged (which is inevitable with plaster dust) I just tapped the filter against the side of the bin and most of the dust fell off. I reinstalled the filter and it continued to work. This is the only filter I currently use.

I'm an engineer so I usually do things like this. I remove the tiles and a thin layer forms a fine dust. I have a decent air quality meter that measures particulates using general purpose bags and a filter. I received 234 at 2.5 µg in a room with a nozzle right at the site. I've switched to high power packs and a filter and now my readings are around 21 at 2.5 mcg. For reference, my house is typically running around 15 to 2.5 mcg on any given day. I blame myself for not seeing the same information on the filter. However, do not use this on Master 16 liters. The reason for this is that the nut holding the filter is a simple friction lock that does NOT screw on. I used a vacuum cleaner with cement dust and only destroy dust, looked back and saw that there was dust everywhere. Pooh. So I put the filter back on, snapped the top of the vacuum back up and it fell off again. What an absolutely stupid design.

This replacement cartridge worked great in my vacuum. I often use a vacuum cleaner hooked up to a grinder, so I needed something I could flush from time to time to get rid of all the fine dust. Another shop vacuum burned out after using a paper filter that kept filling up with dust, and no shaking, hitting, etc. would eject enough dust. This has held up well after a few flushes during our projects this summer. I just let it air dry for a day or two before popping it back in the vacuum.

This filter is superior to the standard filter that comes with ShopVac. My previous filter was constantly clogged and still let in dust particles, which is unacceptable in terms of air quality in my shop. I bought this filter hoping that it would provide a better filter and also not limit the ShopVac's suction power. When I hooked up my ShopVac equipped with an Ultra Web cartridge and dust replacement, the difference was incredible. I mainly use it in my workshop for cutting wood, so it's great

This is a great filter element upgrade over the standard paper filter which disintegrates when wet and is covered in thick dog fur. I have an older 2003 Lowes Exclusive Shop Vac (6 gallons, 3 peak horsepower) that has a list of old Exclusive Lowes Shop Vac filters on the side. Shop Vac's website does not list these filters at all. The model number of the exclusive Lowes Shop Vac is also not printed anywhere on the side. Damn.
