Perfect gift for a young mad scientist

Pretty decent dice for a young mad scientist. Our local mad scientist was disappointed that the block of uranium showed no radioactive decay even though the block of radium was hot, or that a block of sodium or phosphorus thrown into the bath just floated.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • I really don't like anything, everything is fine

Cute, nerdy and functional

It's more for adults than kids to be honest, but it's worth it. Bought for a toddler and he loved the colours, the weight of the blocks and the nice deep sound they make when the blocks are knocked against each other. He actually plays with them over his traditional (lame) alphabet blocks. Plus, the potential for adult drinking games is limitless here. after the child has gone to bed, of course.

Pros
  • Alright!
Cons
  • Empty

The colors are wonderfully bold and suitable for a boy or girl.

This was a congratulatory gift for friends who had just announced that they were expecting a baby. She majored in chemistry in college, so everything was perfect. Most of our friends are engineers of one sort or another. She cried so much that someone remembered her major! Pregnancy hormones probably took over ;) Needless to say, she loved it! The colors are wonderfully bold and suitable for a boy or girl. They come in bright orange, lime green, burgundy/purple, and dark purple. The packagingโ€ฆ

Maybe I like them more than our kid does

I'm a former chemist so I love it when our little one plays with it. I don't know about other kids, but sooner or later everything ends up in their mouths. At the same time I try to remember the building materials of toys. The inks used by this company are non-toxic which is a plus, the downside is you may not see the same durability as others. But safety comes first in my opinion. Its size is perfect for small baby hands and the type of wood used has the appropriate density. That means if youโ€ฆ

Nice gift for a design engineer

This was a gift for my 14 month old nephew whose parents are in science. He likes them and they are pretty cute. The blocks are the same size as Uncle Goose's other blocks - I also bought nursery rhyme blocks - so once he gets comfortable with building he can combine them to create larger structures. They're well made, the colors are nice and I appreciate that they're made in the USA and don't contain any weird chemicals so we didn't have to worry about kids or dogs chewing on them. They appear

.that is hard.

So. This is ONLY a set of 20 five sided blocks. You must purchase 6 COMPLETE SETS to create the entire periodic table. that costs over $30 for a set. Luckily my son had a family who each bought one as a birthday gift to make the whole set for him. And these blocks are GREAT for my 4 year old to play with. He is autistic and has Savant Syndrome so he memorized the periodic table after hearing the Asap science song about the periodic table 4 times. He was obsessed with it so I HAD to have it when

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions

  • Almost never
