The fabric is smooth on the outside and roughened on the inside. SHAPE REDUCED: The cut is "waisted", so close to the body that it can appear a bit small. My 10 year old son wears shirts around a size 14 or so and the Youth Large fits him well. He loves that texture and has a fluffier, softer lining on the inside that is very comfortable and soft.
