This is great, it's just not finished yet. If you have an angle grinder and grinding wheels you can easily remove the burrs and cut the neck to look intentional. Within ten minutes you can have a kettle that won't cut you on most edges. Without additional paint, the kettle will rust. There is light surface rust but it is unsightly. Seems strong enough. I'm sure it's Junk Metal, but there's a hell of a lot of it – it's HEAVY.

An attractive jar delivered without literature filled our house with a toxic, dizzying smell of baked paint and formed a sticky coating on the lid where it pooled and a ring on the stove left. I bought it because the description indicated a blemish (don't care for us as cast iron always rusts over time) but the seller obviously fixed the imperfection with paint. We both feel ill and after a few hours the house still smells of poison (but not so much because we opened the windows on all floors).

VERY rough cast iron. Made in China, ie sharp edges on the edge, very coarse cut on the spout. Painted black, paint scraped off in a few places, but we are still planning to burn it in before use. I was considering getting a used one at an antique store, but the old ones are a lot more expensive (but much better finished) and it seemed like a good deal at $42. You get what you pay for.
