I need this because it has a straight plug (as opposed to a rectangular one) and has a very long cord which is required for a specific application, for that I intended. The main disadvantage of this is that if you run a heater near say 120 over 15 without doing anything else, the circuit will break. So no electric deep fryers or the like.

Yes it is an extension cord. Pretty basic, nothing special. Surge protection is definitely not. If you want something that you can connect multiple things to, it's worth checking out.

Bought twice. Solid weight, excellent quality. Like the length. I hate them every 3-5 feet of cord. Useless in my house.

I ordered this for a hospital as I am about to give birth and needed a long cell phone cord. I'm glad I tested this at home first because it was only used at night for less than a month and it has stopped working. I wish I could get my money back. shame

They are great with extra long power cord. Sometimes you need an extension cord, but the store-bought one won't work because the cord is too short.

I needed a surge protector with a longer cord for a TV above a fireplace. At the bottom of the windows there are caps on both sides. The power cord is great for my purposes.
