Works very well in light winds. I just spent the weekend using it in very windy conditions and it just blew out. It was pretty easy to get it working in high winds, using rocks and sticks to keep it in place. Good product, not great.

Useful for camping. I used it as a rug on the table at Pickwick State Park to provide a heat-resistant surface for the stovetop and small pots and pans in the dining room. I was also able to double the set of segments to create a flat surface on an undeveloped table when burning alcohol in any stove. It washes well and dries quickly. Also works as a windbreak. Might be a little heavier than I would like for backpacking but very comfortable for car camping or picnics. Works great on a back porch

I smashed this windshield at Shackleford Banks this weekend and it was awesome. When there was no wind, there was a strong wind, which was used both with an alcohol distiller and to protect the fire, which the wind burned through our firewood too quickly. It's strong enough to sink into the sand a bit if needed. Pros: Lightweight, works like a charm on the beach, and at this price point, hard to beat if you need it for a few days.
