Transfer OS from original SATA drive to SSD

I bought a new laptop for my daughter but didn't want the system to run on a supplied SATA drive so I used this cable, to connect the SSD drive to it Using free software from the Internet to transfer data to a new SSD drive. Then I opened the laptop and swapped drives, and the already fast computer was significantly faster, but with a new SSD drive. Excellent cable

Pros
  • Regular price
Cons
  • Security

Good thing to lie about.

Not a techie, read other reviews on this, just wanted to say I needed to read the SSD drive I pulled out of the computer, I bought this, it worked, I quickly got the information from the drive, that I needed and painless at a very reasonable price. I'm putting it in a drawer hoping I'll never need it again, but I'll have it when the day comes.

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • There are even more interesting options.

Quality workmanship, decent materials, LED indicator, adapter cover, and no problem for repeated use. I just wish it had a longer cable and a nice, functional body, even if they did raise the price. I've bought several of these adapters and this one is in the top 3. Those made in the past have been made of better materials, with a longer cord and additional adapters. Good product and worth the price.

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Well built, decent materials, working LED, adapter cover and had no problems using it a few times. I just wish it had a longer cable and a nice, functional body, even if they did raise the price. I've bought several of these adapters and this one is in the top 3. The ones made back then were made of better materials, with a longer cable and additional adapters. Good product and worth the price.

Pros
  • Cables and Accessories
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Misleading information

The images above and in the middle of the listing show that 6Gb/s transfer rates are fully supported. When I received and tested the product, I noticed that my drive is not reaching its maximum speed. Went back to my Sabrent adapter and it was full speed again on the same drive. Went back to the listing and saw in the fine print details below that it says 5 Gbps instead of 6 like the pictures. This adapter will clog up your drive! If you're okay with a small drop in performance, then everything

Pros
  • SATA cable
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

A quick and easy way to access your SATA hard drive.

As other reviewers have said, you may need some sort of power supply if you have one of the larger drives. I've used this with 2 SSD drives and 1 laptop style SATA drive and it worked great. The access speed seems to be acceptable and it worked on Windows, Linux and OSX. What more could you want from an inexpensive SATA to USB adapter? I'm very happy with it so far. Update: June 2019, I also bought their USB IDE to SATA adapter, here's a review on it: When you use it to restore or install anโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Cables and Connections
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
