Indispensable for technical support!

I bought the Unitek M.2 NVMe SSD Enclosure for $19.99 on sale. I needed a client data recovery and transfer case for my tech support. It might feel a bit cramped for an 80mm M.2 drive in an enclosure, but it stays in place and pulls out with relative ease. You don't need screwdrivers or tools to open the case or insert M.2 flash drives, and the whole process can be completed in seconds once you get the hang of it. My only complaint is the small USB-C 3.0 cables, which are around 7 to 10 cm…

Pros
  • Crossing my fingers
Cons
  • Lots of things

I removed my old NVMe drive from the mainboard and put it in the Unitek S1204B case. When I connect an external USB enclosure to my PC, Windows does not initialize the drive. What I've tried: - convert to MBR (failed) - convert to GPT (failed - the specified drive could not be converted because it is smaller than the minimum size required by the guid). -diskpart can select a drive, but no other commands work. I know it's a great work drive. but I can't get it to work or even format it. I've…

It works quite well

I have a Samsung 970 Evo installed in it. It didn't work initially because Windows gave an "Invalid Operation" error. Push the drive further into the slot than you think, and then snap it into the plastic latch. After work, it's fast enough to saturate USB 3.0. Samsung and some other manufacturers use the heatsink label on their drives. I didn't install the included silicon/metal heatsink and that wasn't a problem, but if your drive has bare chips it should be installed.

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • I'm worried
