Product does not fit my Makita router with universal base. I had to drill holes which wasn't difficult but took a long time to align. After the holes have been drilled and buried. (Don't forget to do this!) It worked fine. It's ok for the money, the construction is strong and thick. It held the diameter I wanted to cut 3/4" MDF. I used this circle cutter to cut a round hole in plywood, it worked great once you got it set up. I used it with my compact router and followed the instructions to trace my ground plane to its base. Because it's bakelite, I was able to easily drill through holes and a countersunk hole with a Forster machine driver. Personally I would recommend looking elsewhere. I ordered this, drilled it to match my router, drilled a pilot hole to place the base in the center of the circle and when I started to make the cut the part going into the center hole broke off. I requested a new part which customer service said they would only send the returned item received this part yesterday and the part I needed was not there. I think this circular knife can become a good tool. However, there were no instructions on how to use it or even connect a router to it. Very little information on the web, just a few YouTube videos from those who bought it. Also, you'll have to drill your own mounting holes in the base and somehow figure out how to adapt your router to it. It takes a bit of work and precision to set up as I had to drill holes for the small Bosch router I use. It was easy enough once I got the right size.
