NOT FOR BOOKBINDING! The description is completely inaccurate!

The hole on these needles is no larger than any standard large hole sewing needle. To suggest that it's wider for handling bookbinding thread is complete fabrication anyway. They also state that they have a blunt end, which they do NOT. They are as sharp as any other sewing needle. Also, they are no stronger than needles than standard needles. The "resealable bag" is just the paper envelope they are shipped in. Yes, technically I can peel off the label and open the envelope every time, but…

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • Will be added later

These seem to be the most common needles in the world, but I'm pretty sure it's because I'm new to bookbinding. The packaging is fine, it comes in a foldable paper envelope which I had to tape shut after opening to avoid losing the needles. I think a regular…

  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • High Price

Eyes too small

Why didn't I read the negative reviews first? I now have the rather expensive University Products bookbinding needles - a set of 5 with eyelets that are too small for my thread making them useless for my bookbinding needs. They definitely won't have any waxed threads or twines that I've ever seen. You can have a thin silk thread but I don't use it. I create brochure inserts for my magazine. The body of the needle is thick (heavy duty) and durable, and the length of the needles is as advertised.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other products
