Good quality, cheap construction

These adapters have excellent sound quality. I use these on my PS3 systems for voice chat with a mic port and have never had a problem getting people to hear me speak like I do with some other bluetooth adapters and mics. The only problem is that they are made from very cheap materials and they break easily if you accidentally pull the headphone/mic cable (which often happens during intense gaming). Not a big deal as they're cheap to replace, but I recommend ordering extras in case you break…

Play audio on your laptop and record it at the same time!

For the price, it worked great. I wanted to be able to record music output from my laptop through the laptop itself. I was using an EZ-Drummer to play the drums and wanted to use Audacity to record the output music. I connected this USB sound card adapter to my laptop, connected the 3.5mm jack from the laptop's headphone output to the microphone input of this card adapter and voila: I was able to record the EZ-Drummer's output with Audacity (both running on the same laptop) . For even more fun,

The sound quality is very poor

There is so much distortion that I'm afraid it will damage my speakers. Doesn't cover all frequencies either. This card is good for very basic use without music. If you want to use it to listen to music, it's a bad idea. I use a laptop and my audio jack got damaged because I was sometimes careless. I will create a new desktop in a few months. One of my top priorities for my new desktop will be finding a sound card with open source drivers for Windows. Should save me buying a new sound card for…

Sound recording on a laptop

Five months ago I had to switch from a desktop PC to a laptop. I bought an HP 17.3 laptop from Revain. One of the first things I uploaded was a wonderful (and free) audio management program called Audacity. Recently I wanted to use a program to record sound playing on a laptop. On a desktop it was easy - just connect a 3.5mm male-to-male cable to the audio output and audio inputs. But the laptop has an audio port that works both ways, but not both at the same time. Some research suggested a USB
