I like this hat very much. It covers me well for the sun protection I need, and it is also pretty. The only problem is not with the hat, but how it was packaged for mailing. The brim was folded in thirds, so there are permanent bends left in it. Since I am older and am mainly using the hat for sun protection, I am keeping it. If my main reason had been to have a stylish hat, I would have returned it. Walmart, please instruct your packers to Not fold the brims. Pack that part flat!

I purchased this hat because of the opening in the back which would allow you to wear the hat for sun protection while also having your hair up in a pony tail. The fabric has absolutely no stretch to it and the width of the opening is so tight, it is impossible to fit a finger in to grasp any hair to pull through the opening, let alone a pony tail. I needed a hat for sun protection while driving and walking across the parking lot. Boonie hats or wide brimmed hats bump up against the car's head rest and are generally annoying to drive in, plus they can block visibility. This hat is perfect because the back lies flat so it doesn't rub or bump against the headrest, but the fabric flaps still shade your neck. First of all, I look horrible in hats, all hats. But I needed something for gardening on sunny days after getting terribly sunburned recently. This hat looks as good on me as I can hope for. It has the floppy, kind of ruffled back and looks feminine, so I'm happy with that. It's comfortable. I wore it for 3 or 4 hours each day, and it protected my neck and the backs of my ears.

The hat is great and its a very nice, very dark blue color. I love the way it looks and it seems to cover what it is intended to cover. I am taking off one star because the write up on the product said that the bow could be manipulated to tighten the hat at the back. I cannot figure out how this could be done as its just a decorative bow. The company can feel free to contact me if I am missing something but it seems like a pretty basic bow that is just tacked on for effect.

The hat is very stylish, and does give you complete coverage. It may cover more than some might like, as the front section (or bill) sticks out farther than most hats.

I like that the brim offers good coverage. I'm not crazy about the ruffle look but I wanted neck coverage and this has it. It is light weight and easy to fold, so it would be ideal for packing. The chin strap comes in handy for windy days. Several times the hat would have blown away if not for that. Overall pretty pleased with the purchase.

I love this hat! The design, fit and comfort match my style and my swimsuit. Because of medications I can't get sunburned and this hat keeps the sun off my head, face and neck. I can even put my hair through the hole above the cute bow in the back so I don't have to get my hair wet if I don't want to do that. I also like having the option of tightening the chin strap so the wind won't carry my hat away. If I ever need another hat I'll buy this one again.

I ordered a large in khaki, after going through the confusing size chart. It fits but is slightly too large. Which is super annoying because the hat keeps sliding off my head. We take this with us to amusement parks and it is amazing to fold up and shove in a bag. It doesn’t lose its shape. It’s compact as well so it doesn’t take up a lot of space like other hats. Highly recommended

Not only is this UPF 50 rated but the shape of the hat and the neck coverage is great. it's lightweight too and looks like it'll be easy to pack. I live in Southern California and take my sun protection very seriously.

I bought this because I wanted to look cute while kayaking/floating (silly I know) but it did the job! It's lightweight, super cute, kept the sun out of my face & it's very "maneuverable", it didn't look bad after being stuck into a bag for a while or after getting a little wet and put back on. I work 10 hour days as a landscaper for my city near Denver, CO where the UV index is often 11-12 (Today it says "Extreme risk of harm"). I'm very pale; my foundation color is whatever the lightest one is at the makeup counter. As you might imagine my standards for sun protection are pretty high. I've forgotten to put sunscreen (I wear 70+spf) on my face once at work and only got the slightest amount of pink on my cheeks and none on my forehead. You still need sunscreen, but not nearly as much.

Several people mentioned that they think the hat is too big from some of the reviews so I was a little big concern if it would be big even for a size small. I tried it on immediately as soon as I received it and I absolutely LOVE it. It is a little big loose but I love the style and I does block the sun really good. Now I wear it ever single time when I go to the pool. I put my hair inside the hat so it helps to tight up.

It seemed looser than I expected. Not a big deal for me because I can see elastic if needed. Otherwise, I'm very pleased. I love how there's a slit for a ponytail (main reason I bought this). It was easy to remove the bow, if needed. Just a few threads to snip. Lightweight, thin, folds easily. Thick fabric in the front to maintain shape for visibility, thin fabric in the back. Roll it up to fit in your purse. Love it!

I love this hat. it was a little big but I easily used the chin strap to make it tighter by putting it on the back of my head and tightening instead of wearing it under my chin. Super cute khaki color and I like the little bow. Great sun protection and breathable material.

As others have stated, this runs small and the pony tail hole is also small. My head size above my brows is about 22" and I have thick hair. I also don't think the pony tail hole is at the right spot because it makes the hat rest with the brim going up instead of down, which defeats the purpose of wearing a sun hat.
