Cannot be installed

Cannot be installed without special tools(?). I had to cut out more than half of the protrusion to insert it into the hole and glue it with superglue.

Pros
  • Automotive
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Agree with other negative reviews - Difficult to assemble

The socket is really quite hard plastic that doesn't deform easily. Therefore, it is very difficult to align the wing bore with the hub bore. I gave up.

Pros
  • Switch and relay
Cons
  • It's ok

Not suitable: switch and relay

This is not an original BMW spare part. Rubber is more like hard plastic and will not fit in the antenna hole no matter how hard you press it. I have been working on a 2001 Z3 but I suspect this part will not fit any car that uses BMW part number 65218411562.

Pros
  • spare parts
Cons
  • difficult to say

Not suitable for Z3 released before April 99!

BMW has been upgrading this hub since April 1999. This part is not suitable for Z3 models manufactured before this date. The seller advertises that this part fits all Z3. In addition, the seller does not accept returns of opened packages - this was noticed when attempting to return. I don't know how you can tell if it's right/wrong without opening the package. With their help I found the right part on bimmerworld.

Pros
  • Antenna
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Seems to work fine Antenna

Warning. It's a hard plastic bushing, not like a pliable rubber bushing that almost crumbled when I took it off. I had to shave the inner hole with a knife to increase the diameter to fit the antenna pin. It doesn't "click" and I rely on the screwed-in antenna to fill a gap in the wing frame to keep water out. I wouldn't recommend this at all for a 2000 BMW Z3. Yes it fits in a hole in the fender but it was a waste of money.

Pros
  • Relay
Cons
  • No instructions
