Excellent for use with small constant current wire feeders which are lightweight. Fabrication and repair of lightweight structural steel, trailers, tanks, hoppers and machinery parts. Excellent for use on fillet and lap welds on thin gauge steel where burn through is a problem with other wires and electrodes. Ideal to use in drafty or windy conditions where gas shielded wires cannot be used.
The only other wire I can compare this wire to is the wire that comes with the welder (Lincoln). The bead appears to be smoother than this wire, so now I can be a little prouder of my welds. would recommend.
A little cheaper than the wire that Wal-Mart started selling near me. Works about as well as any other flux I've used, the coil loves to explode (unravel) when you first unwrap it as do many others so keep that in mind and you'll be fine.
I like the 2 pound size and price of this welding wire. I've been using Lincoln since I started welding a few years ago. Brought it to the first test yesterday. We must build new gates for our horses. I used a rusty old well pipe that was lying around my house. Cleaned up a bit with a wire brush (my grinder just died) and you're done. This wire spattered less than the others, penetrated well, and lay very flat. The only problem I've encountered is randomly getting stuck in the hose. Not sure…
